Boer Goats

The Boer goat was developed in the early 1900’s and can be traced to the Dutch farmers of South Africa.   The Boer goat has a rapid growth rate, excellent carcass qualities and is highly adapted to different environments. They are primarily raised for their meat.

They came to the United States in 1993. The Boer goats became very popular for their high quality, lean and healthy red meat.

The Boer goats are very friendly, great brushers, and very easy to raise. A mature doe weighs between 190 and 230 pounds and a mature Boer buck can weigh between 200 and 340 pounds.

We no longer breed Boer goats, but if you would like, you many contact us for a referral or contact the ABGA - click here: www.ABGA.org.
